Reading your prescription couldn't be easier. If it is written in the format below, you can proceed to order your new prescription spectacles.
Essentially, for each eye (left and right) the following values may be required:
Sphere (Sph)
Cylinder (Cyl)
Axis
Near Addition (Add)
Additionally we request that you also provide your Pupilary Distance (PD). All these values will be given to you by the Optician when you have your eyes tested. Your PD is something you may need to request as an additional piece of information.
If your prescription is in a format that doesn't appear to map to the one above, or you are having trouble interpreting your prescription, then please contact us and we can advise you, or alternatively you can ask your Optician to provide the prescription in the format above. Any additional information written on your optical prescription must be translated to us when ordering.
Some boxes may be blank in your prescription (i.e. no 'Sphere' or 'Cylinder', 'Axis' and/or 'Add'); you should leave those sections empty. If only one number is present for each eye, this denotes the sphere power. Under 'Cylinder', some prescriptions may have this number in a plus or negative format, or this section may be blank.
You need to ensure all details you provide are accurate. If you do however realise an error has been made, please contact us immediately so we can rectify the details. When ordering online you will of course be able to verify your entire order before you submit it to us.
